Job Description: NMR Group is seeking an Energy Data Analyst or Energy Engineering Analyst III with demonstrated data analysis skills and, ideally, experience in market research, applied research, program evaluation, or the energy industry. We prefer candidates located in the Boston area but will consider candidates located elsewhere who can work remotely.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree plus five years of related experience or a master’s degree plus three years of related experience. For this position, we prefer degrees in data science, computer science, engineering, environmental science, economics, or a related field. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong capabilities with R (including maintaining and updating code repositories), as well as an interest in mentoring junior staff on these programming and analysis skills. This role requires strong written communication skills, task management abilities, and an interest in contributing to a collaborative atmosphere.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Conducting all phases of analysis, including data compilation and cleaning, exploratory analysis, and creating deliverables
• Writing analysis code and performing quantitative analyses using R
• Providing analysis and programming support for colleagues using the code
• Training colleagues on how to write and troubleshoot analysis code
• Maintaining and updating code repositories using version control tools such as Git
• Assisting in the identification of software, online services, and technological resources to improve the efficiency of data management and analysis
• Writing clear and concise summaries, memoranda, and reports
• For Engineering Analyst III candidates, conduct commercial & industrial site visits and engineering analyses to quantify energy savings

The anticipated salary for this position is from the $80,000s to $100,000s, depending on qualifications and experience.
